Plee the Bear is a 2D platform game in which the player controls a bear in single or multiplayer mode. As of 2010-02-27, the latest version of the game is 0.4.1 released on September 3rd, 2009.[2]

The game's source code is licensed under the GNU GPL v2, while the game's media is under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license v3.[3][4]

It is written in the C++ programming language using the SDL library.

Debian GNU/Linux and GNU/kFreeBSD
  • As of 2009-10-02, Debian testing (squeeze) includes packages with version 0.4.1-2 for amd64 hppa i386 ia64 mips mipsel sparc, unstable also includes packages for kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386. There is also a 0.2.1-2 package for m68k.[5]
  • Editors are provided as a package called "bear-factory", version 0.4.1-2, for amd64 hppa i386 ia64 kfreebsd-amd64 kfreebsd-i386 mips mipsel sparc.[6]
