Weekly Happening #3

October 18th, 2008

Well, this week is a healthy week. We are continously adding new articles practically everday along with article expansion. Stendhal got the construction project vote and looks to expand to a decent size. We also got a very nice expansion in the article SDL-Ball, coming from the developer of the game itself.

As for the top ten longest article, we see that the List of developers grews to truely monstrous size, standing at 8,000 bytes. Now it displace Globulation 2 at 5th place in the list. The biggest article of all, the List of games grew  by 400 bytes, a sign that games has been added. OpenAnno, the recipient of a widely successful construction project was standing outside the top list at #11. That’s pretty dang impressive for an article that is about a game that is still in its infancy to climb all the way there.

  1. (hist) ‎List of games ‎[28,870 bytes]
  2. (hist) ‎Battle for Wesnoth ‎[14,344 bytes]
  3. (hist) ‎Hero of Allacrost ‎[11,770 bytes]
  4. (hist) ‎Battle for Wesnoth release history ‎[11,691 bytes]
  5. (hist) ‎List of developers ‎[8,021 bytes]
  6. (hist) ‎Globulation 2 ‎[7,400 bytes]
  7. (hist) ‎Radakan ‎[6,976 bytes]
  8. (hist) ‎Adanaxis ‎[6,387 bytes]
  9. (hist) ‎Uzebox ‎[6,193 bytes]
  10. (hist) ‎History ‎[5,210 bytes]

Now as for the magical 1000 bytes club, we got 263 articles. Compared with the last number we have last week, we grew by 7 articles. So the club has expanded only a little bit. It doesn’t mean that the articles in the club didn’t get larger though. Also, we got 76 articles larger than 2000 bytes.

Well..that’s it for weekly happening #3!

Weekly Happening #2

October 11th, 2008

For this week’s happening, we got horde of activities going on! For example tons of new articles were created. However, since there were so many articles, I think I’ll just summarzie the new page changes. There were lot of new developer articles(and also redirect) written by John. It also seem that game articles creation are outnumbered this time.

Also we started our collaboration project on OpenAnno. It is already shaping up nicely!

As for the top ten longest articles on the wiki. We only see that List of developers got slight larger but that’s it. They are:

  1. (hist) ‎List of games ‎[28,414 bytes]
  2. (hist) ‎Battle for Wesnoth ‎[14,344 bytes]
  3. (hist) ‎Hero of Allacrost ‎[11,770 bytes]
  4. (hist) ‎Battle for Wesnoth release history ‎[11,691 bytes]
  5. (hist) ‎Globulation 2 ‎[7,400 bytes]
  6. (hist) ‎Radakan ‎[6,976 bytes]
  7. (hist) ‎Uzebox ‎[6,193 bytes]
  8. (hist) ‎Adanaxis ‎[6,144 bytes]
  9. (hist) ‎List of developers ‎[6,012 bytes]
  10. (hist) ‎History ‎[5,210 bytes]

There won’t be a top ten list this time. Too uninteresting to list. Instead, I’ll write out how large our articles are to measure the progress of article expansion over time.

The magical 1000 bytes club includes 258 articles. Given that we have about 452 articles, that mean half of our articles are larger than 1,000 bytes! Hopefully this club will expand over time.
