A workaround was to remove "addpagecounter=true" from the query as MediaWiki does not keep track of page reads in the current version anymore. The image in the sidebar is badly rendered, probably to do with the fact that it's an animated GIF. On its own "File:" page it looks good.
Gem Drop X is a fast puzzle game. Placing gems in vertical lines destroys them and ultimately leads to completion of a level. It has been compared to "Tetris meets Space Invaders." The author is Bill Kendrick of New Breed Software. It is written in the C programming language.

Description
The game consists of 20 levels in which gems of different sorts move towards the player.
Placing three stones of the same kind in a vertical line destroys them as well as similar adjacent gems, which may result in a chain reaction. The larger the resulting chain reaction, the more points are earned.
For solving each level, a specific amount of chain reactions has to be triggered. The player is confronted with four different gems in the levels one to 15, in the last five levels there are eight stones.

Special objects
Special objects are triggered when an adjacent gem explodes. There are three of them:
* A bomb destroys adjacent pieces.
* Wildcards start chain reactions with all adjacent gems.
* The stopwatch stops gem movement for a short while.

Source code and development
The source code was ported from Gem Drop and is written in C. It depends on SDL, SDL_image and has SDL_mixer as an option needed for music and sound effects.

License
The source code license is GPL 2. The license(s) of the image, music and sound files is unknown.
Me and My Shadow is a platform and puzzle game in which the player's shadow plays an important role. The game uses only monochrome colours, fitting the shadow-theme. There is set of tutorial levels which explain the controls, tactics and puzzles elements.

Game play
The goal of the game is to reach the exit in each level. Certain obstacles and puzzle elements can only be conquered by working together with the player's shadow. Therefore the player can record his movements by pressing <kbd>Space</kbd>. Pressing <kbd>Space</kbd> again will let the shadow perform those movements. Each level can be repeated indefinitely by either dying or restarting it by pressing <kbd>r</kbd>.

The player can jump one block high. But by standing on the head of the shadow, two block high walls can be reached.

Puzzle elements
; Exist : The exit looks like a door.
; Blocks : Both player and shadow can walk on normal blocks
; Shadow blocks : Only the shadow can walk on shadow blocks, the normal player just falls through them
; Fragile blocks: Repeatedly jumping on fragile blocks will destroy them
; Spikes : Spikes are deadly, don't touch them
; Teleporters : Teleportes can be used to beam to an connected teleporter elsewhere in the level
; Swap : Will trade places between player and shadow

History
The development started in April 2009 by Luka Horvat as a Windows games. In January 2011, Omer Bahri Gordebak announced his plans to build a clone which resulted in the release of the source code by Horvat under the GNU GPL.. It is now maintained by Edward Lii.

PrimeShooter is an abstract browser based shooter game licensed under the GPLv2. The player must shoot falling numbers with their divisors and scores points for clearing prime numbers.

Gameplay
In a twist on the classic shoot 'em up genre, this game's enemies are numbers which the player has to shoot with their prime factors. The player can shoot missiles consisting of prime numbers up to 19 with the press of a key, and a special 'P' missile. When an enemy number is hit by one of its prime factors, it is divided by it and continues its march to the bottom. If an enemy is a prime number, however, and it is hit by the corresponding number or the special 'P' missile, it is removed and the player gains a point.

The goal of the game is to reach the highest score possible. Enemy numbers that fall past the bottom of the screen sometimes reappear at the top. Those reappearing numbers are sometimes marked with a deeper shade of red, if these super-activated numbers hit the bottom again the player looses a life. The player also looses a life if a number collides with their gun. For each 50 points the player scores, they are awarded an extra life. As the player's score increases, so does the difficulty of the game which means more simultaneous enemies and higher numbers to factorise, up to a maximum of 500.
I understand it doesn't belong here but there's something fishy going on with the PokerTH article, I get a 403 forbidden error when I try to edit it or go to its discussion. Maybe check the file permissions.
* This is not due to file permissions but rather a referrer spam block script that runs on my entire server. It is not wise to disable it on a site like this. CyaNox 01:07, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
The versions released by Parallel Realities (versions 1.0 and 1.1) were not libre. They contained non-libre graphics, sound effects, and music. In 2012, this was addressed by Guus Sliepen and some other contributors; all of the graphics and sounds were replaced, and version 1.2 was released. However, this version was not a truly libre game either, because the asteroid and ore graphics were derived from an image on Wikipedia that was mislabelled.

In 2015, onpon4 picked up the game and released version 1.3. This was the first libre version of the game. This version also contained various other changes.

Gameplay
In Starfighter, players fly the spacecraft Firefly in different missions, shooting down various enemies as well as completing the presented objectives. The players play in top-down view mode during missions, complete with various useful stats such as shield, ammo, and others.

The game is linear, though players can complete some missions in different orders. In later star systems, players will randomly encounter enemy patrols as they move to different planets. In some cases, players have to fly around to different planets randomly to complete a mission such as the pursuit of an experimental fighter.

Players also have the chance to upgrade their spacecraft with various weapons and the ability to buy additional ammos and ammo capacity from the shop.

As players progress through the game, they will encounter new enemy spacecrafts, boss battles, new wingmates (allies who help you in some of your mission), and new star systems. Players also will be able to buy new weapons such as homing missiles and laser cannons.

Story
The story of the game is about Chris and his friends against the megacorp WEAPCO. This company, WEAPCO, gained power by crushing two opposing factions that it previously supplied weapons to.

Chris begins his adventure when he steals a firefly from WEAPCO and then has to confront the WEAPCO patrols chasing him.

Receptions
Starfighter is given the rating of 5 out of 5 on the average of 19 ratings on happypenguin.
Variations
There is a mini competition that runs once a month, with less stringent rules, created to keep the contestants busy in the off season between the main competitions.
The rules were changed in an effort to provide a more relaxed feel to the competition. Some of the changes include: teams are allowed, existing art/sound/media/etc. are allowed, theme is not voted on, but chosen by the person running the competition.
It first ran in June of 2008.

Concurrent with the main contest, Ludum Dare also runs a Game Jam with more relaxed rules. In particular, the total time is 72 hours, teams can compete and any libraries/frameworks/... are allowed.
Snake Duel for KDE (KSnake) is a snake game in the KDEGames division of KDE 4. In KDE 4.x was called KSnakeRace.

Gameplay
The player controls a snake which eats apples, and when all the apples are eaten must exit the level first. The player’s snake dies if its head hits a wall, another snake, itself, or a ball.

There may be other snakes (their number is configurable and may be between 0 and 99) on the field. Those other snakes may have one of the three kinds of behaviour: Random, Eater, Killer.

There may also be balls (also configurable, 0-99) bouncing between the walls of the field, and killing the player’s snake when they hit it on the head. The behaviour is one of: Dumb, Average, Killer.

The appearance of the walls is configurable and may be a solid color or one of the predefined images.

Also selectable is the level to start with.

Availability
Debian
