I do not believe there was any bad intent involved; at the time, many community repositories used simplified MIT licensing templates without clearly separating source code and game assets licensing.<br /> <br /> The currently developed version is pk2_greta. The project is gradually reorganizing and clarifying licensing and distribution terms.<br /> <br /> Additionally, some third-party assets with unclear licensing status had accumulated in older repositories over time (possibly copyright infringements, totally not MIT). The current project has been cleaning up and replacing such content to improve legal clarity and long-term maintainability.<br /> <br /> Historically, the original Pekka Kana 2 freeware release from 2003 already prohibited commercial redistribution without permission from the original author.<br /> ''Pekka Kana 2 is freeware.
