Doesn't this allow anyone to simply redistribute the code under a GPL license under their own title and under their own copyright?
- IANAL but I'm afraid not. While the actual terms are like public domain, the copyright has technically not been waived and any subsequent users have to retain this retarded copyright notice. GNUbie (talk) 11:42, 26 February 2013 (CET)
- GNU considers this license compatible with GPL - see their license list. I guess that means someone can release a WTFPL game with a new name, claim copyright for such a great contribution and choose any license for that. It does not mean they can just claim authorship of the original work, at least in my jurisdiction this moral right is inalienable. But on the other hand, attribution to the original author(s) is not required by the WTFPL. Hope this helps. -- StevenDH (talk) 13:30, 26 February 2013 (CET)
