GB studio includes non-free c frontend "LLC" via the gbdk engine[edit]

Per GBDK homepage: "GBDK is freeware for non-commercial developments. Most of the code is under the GPL. The runtime libraries should be under the LGPL. The non-commercial clause is from the C front end, lcc." Darth Tiktaalik (talk) 01:34, 2 June 2022 (CEST)

  • Sounds bad enough to me. Removed. Piga (talk) 22:17, 11 June 2022 (CEST)
    • I do wonder about this though. Piga (talk) 22:56, 11 June 2022 (CEST)

TirNanoG creates CC - BY - NC - SA[edit]

TirNanoG is under GPL but by default it creates CC - BY - NC - SA files. It seems this can only be changed by contacting the author, who seems to be USER:Bzt here in LibreGameWiki, and receiving an altered config file from him. This seems not very libre to me. I think this should at least be mentioned in the article because games created with TirNanoG wouldn't (unless an extra permission is granted) be allowed on LibreGameWiki. There is a discussion about this topic at the (old) FreeGameDev Forums in which the developer tries to defend the licensing. It started after a moderator moved the thread about TirNanoG engine to Off-topic. --Kribbel (talk) 17:30, 25 January 2023 (CET)

License of TIC-80[edit]

This wiki says that TIC-80 is licensed under GPL v3+, but TIC-80's GitHub repository shows that it is licensed under the MIT license: https://github.com/nesbox/TIC-80/blob/main/LICENSE. Did the wiki editor make a mistake? --LibreJacket (talk) 07:17, 18 November 2023 (CET)
