Licensing[edit]

We need to add a generic "license/licenses" part, that is optional instead of code/media license(s). Some games only keep everything in the same license. I'd do it but I'm too busy right now to try and hack it ;) --RB0 23:29, 6 January 2008 (CET)

I think it's better to be explicit about it, but why not. --Qubodup 23:57, 6 January 2008 (CET)

Box style changes[edit]

Just changed the color/style to a more wikipedia-ish look, my html skills are basic so any improvements are welcome. -- D'riss (talk) 06:25, 24 January 2008 (CET)

Thanks for the work. We don't aim to look like wikipedia though =) I'll change it to something more friendly than this ol' violet ^^. Dang, we need a color scheme. --Qubodup 03:03, 27 January 2008 (CET)

Hardware acceleration requirement?[edit]

Perhaps dedicated 3D requirement should be added to this template because at the moment it is only possible on Intel GPUs (using free software). Many people however have AMD (ATI) and NVIDIA cards. Most games will use a software renderer as a fallback but in some cases it is absolutely useless. GNUbie 07:00, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Image resizing[edit]

is it possible to resize the image somehow? GNUbie (talk) 13:19, 17 October 2012 (CEST)

The image is automatically resized to 320px width and an proportional height in the game info box. --Hendrik Brummermann (talk) 20:26, 17 October 2012 (CEST)

Possible confusion[edit]

Having seen this, I took a look at this article here and experimented with a game article. I see two Problems here that can lead to confusion and even frustration of users.

1. The actual template does not match with the three examples that are given after ==Usage==. There are several parameters that are not covered by the actual template and therefore they do not work.

  • |link blog =
  • |chat =
  • |link feed =
  • |link pad =
  • |scm =

I think the unused parameters should be removed here so people don't use them and get confused when they are not working. The additional Information (that isn't visible now) can be placed in the section External Links. Or would the removal of the parameters brake anything?

2. The parameters homepage and project don't seem to work as intended. The summary of the code contribution says »if link project is not specified, but link homepage is, show it instead« but instead the text or link in homepage is overwritten by the one in project if project is not empty. Example only hompage ; Example only project ; Example overwritten

It would be great if someone could take a look at

{{#if:{{{link project|}}}|* [{{{link project}}} Development Project]|{{#if:{{{link homepage|}}}|* [{{{link homepage}}} Homepage]}}
}}

and fix this. Kribbel (talk) 22:42, 8 November 2022 (CET)

First release date[edit]

Given most libre games are produced over many years, it might be good context to include a column listing the earliest known release date for a game as well as the latest release. Piga (talk)

Just the date? In what format? And which one if there was a first public release and some earlier privat ones or something? Kribbel (talk)
I would imagine only including the public releases. I don't think including the initial version number is that vital. Piga (talk) 04:10, 30 January 2023 (CET)
