Blob Wars: Metal Blob Solid is a 2D action platform game, created by Parallel Realities. The source is released under the GPL version 2.[1]

The latest version of the game is 2.00 released on November 11, 2015.

In Blob Wars, you play as a blob who rescues blobs missing in action. As you advance in the game, you get power-ups to enhance your ability to cruise in the levels. The aqua lung enables you to swim indefinitely, and the jetpack enables you to fly.

You use the map of the world to choose missions.

In 2008, it was revealed that the sounds in the game were freeware. The sounds were later removed at least from the Debian package, and the game may have been removed from others.

The game is the prequel to Blob Wars Episode 2 : Blob And Conquer, which also contains non-free sounds in the official version.
