  • Campaigns or individual missions.
  • Against the computer.
  • Against another player (on the same machine, networked or e-mail).

Gameplay Design[edit]

Crimson Fields is a turn-based strategy game. Players take turns controlling their armed forces in an effort to destroy their opponent and/or accomplish tactical objectives. Maps are hex-based, with unit movement based upon the terrain. Units may only move/shoot once per turn. Units who survive combat can gain rank and increase their attributes of attack/defense.

Currency comes in the form of mined crystals which are produced at Mines. Crystals can be used to purchase new units from a Factory or repair units at a Shop. Veteran units cost less to repair than a rookie unit.
