LinuxGames was a news website that focused on Linux gaming that was launched in November 1998 and closed in July 2015 when its host Atomicgamer went down. It principally relayed new game announcements and release dates, as well as some event coverage such as QuakeCon, and interviews with figures such as Ryan C. Gordon, Michael Sims, Timothee Besset and John Carmack. Although mostly maintained by staff writers, including Zachary J. Slater, Al Koskelin, Matt Matthews, Dustin Reyes, and Marvin Malkowski Jr., user submitted news was also solicited. The site also hosted several Linux game emulation and free software game projects.
