| OpenRTS is a free game. This means that the source code and media files are available to be studied, modified, and distributed. Most projects look for help with testing, documentation, graphics, etc., as well. | |
OpenRTS, also known as arrakis, is an isometric real-time strategy game written in Python, using Pygame and PGU, released under the GNU General Public License.[1] It is written by Andreas Røsdal.
Development history[edit]
In December 2005, the OpenRTS project was started.[2]
The project's last stable release was in April of 2006. The project died following the move to sourceforge.net, and its latest release.[3]
Though it was planned to use the free graphics from the game Hard Vacuum in 2006[4], only a few were actually used (only for the GUI).
