| OpenRTS is a free game. This means that the source code is available to be studied, modified, and distributed. Most projects look for help with testing, documentation, graphics, etc., as well. | |
OpenRTS, also known as arrakis, is an isometric real-time strategy game written in Python, using Pygame and PGU, released under the GNU General Public License.[1] It is written by Andreas Røsdal.
Development history[edit]
In December 2005, the OpenRTS project was started.[2]
The project's last stable release was in April of 2006. The project died following the move to sourceforge.net, and its latest release.[3]
Though it was planned to use the free graphics from the game Hard Vacuum in 2006[4], only a few were actually used (only for the GUI).
