Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy game originally written in C as a closed source project by Pumpkin Studios. It was released (excluding the videos) under the GNU General Public License in late 2004 by Eidos Interactive. Now development is in the hands of the Warzone 2100 Resurrection Project.
Warzone 2100 takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, where earth's satellites equipped with nuclear weapons were manipulated to attack the earth.
In Warzone 2100 new developed technology is used to design vehicles. The player chooses turret, body and propulsion which affect speed, health points, armor damage and shooting range of the unit.
In campaign mode, the map gradually got larger with each successful mission. Then, it become necessary to transport troops to other maps.
The game is primarily controlled using a pointing device; it is graphics tablet-friendly.
In 2008, the music video data of the original game has been released under the GPL.
