Breakout-like games
Breakout-like games are arcade-style games where a ball bounces through a playing field and must hit blocks to break them. The player controls a paddle and must prevent the ball from escaping the playing field. The goal is usually to either clear all levels, or to reach a highscore, or both. Breakout-like games are also sometimes called Arkanoid-like games.
