Illarion is a free game. This means that the source code and media files are available to be studied, modified, and distributed. Most projects look for help with testing, documentation, graphics, etc., as well.

Illarion is an online RPG where strict roleplaying is enforced on the official server.[2] The game takes place in a high fantasy setting and uses classless skill-based progression.[3]
