Note: This article is about multiple libre versions of the game Duck Marines with libre music files. Those libre games may differ slightly, but share the same article for simplicity. This article is not about the original Duck Marines as published initially by Tangram Games.

Duck Marines is a 2D multiplayer arcade and party game for 2 to 4 players. Players compete to lead as many ducks as possible into their own submarines while avoiding predators from eating the ducks. It can be played locally against other players or against the computer.

Gameplay[edit]

The game is played on a small 2D map based on tiles. Ducks and predators will spawn out of holes. The players can interact with the map by placing a number of arrow tiles on the map. Ducks and predators will follow the arrows or take turns when they run into a wall.

Each time a duck or predator enters a submarine, something happens:

  • Gray duck: Player gets +1 point
  • Gold duck: Player gets many points
  • Pink duck: Special event or minigame starts
  • Predator (blue): Player losts many points

Special events change something random in the game. This includes faster or slower ducks, sending more predators, etc. In mini games, the players compete for bonus points.

The game also comes with a simple level editor allowing players to build custom levels.
