Neverputt is a simple miniature golf game based on Neverball written by Robert Kooima.
Gameplay[edit]
Neverputt can be played locally with 1 to 4 players. You can select one of nine courses (as of 1.6.0), most of which have 18 holes. The courses have a simple and abstract design (using the Neverball style) and feature both static and some dynamic (moving) elements. Some simple special elements like teleporters exist, too.
Players take turns striking a ball on a course with obstacles towards a hole. You can choose the direction and strength of each stroke and must wait until the ball comes to rest before you can hit the ball again. Each stroke counts towards the final score. If the ball falls off the map, 1 penalty point is added. The player with the lowest score in the end wins.
In multiplayer, the player balls do not collide with eath other.
Each course also comes with a par score, which is a kind of "pro" score that players may (or may not) attempt to beat. The game also features traditional Golf terminology, like "Hole in 1" (reach the hole in 1 stroke), "Birdy" (1 under par), "Bogey" (1 above par), etc.
How to obtain Neverputt[edit]
Neverputt is usually distributed together with Neverball. If you install Neverball, you usually also install Neverputt at the same time. On some Linux distributions, Neverball comes as a separate package (see the package information in this page). A version was also included on OpenSource Game Power volume 1.
