TuxKart is a racing game featuring the Linux kernel mascot, Tux. It was written by Steve and Oliver Baker. The codebase was eventually forked by the GoTH development team as the basis for SuperTuxKart.[1] It is licensed under the GPL.[2] The latest version of the game is 0.4.0. It uses PLIB, a game development library.[3]

TORCS (The Open Racing Car Simulator) is a racing and programming game based on RARS. The source code is licensed under the GPL while the data are licensed under the FAL. TORCS itself is forked as Speed Dreams. A physical version of the game on disc has been released by ADVPlans, as well as on OpenSource Game Power volume 1.

Maniadrive is a racing clone of Trackmania written by an author with the pseudonym xfennec. The latest version of the game is 1.2 released on August 21st, 2006.[9] The code is licensed under the GPL, while some of the media are also under the GPL but some are licensed under CC-BY-SA.

Maniadrive is flagship game of Raydium 3D engine. Game contains level editor and there are community forums where homemade tracks are showed.

The music is released under the non-free CC BY-NC-SA license, but there exist a fully-free version with non-free music removed. See Fedora repository for freed packages with replacement soundtrack.[8]

SuperTuxKart is a racing game featuring various Free Software mascots (see #Characters). It is an enhanced fork of TuxKart.[14][15] It is written in the C++ programming language. It uses Antarctica (a heavily modified version of Irrlicht engine) for graphics and OpenAL for sounds.[16]

SuperTuxKart was worked on by the GotM team through July to December 2004.[17]

TuxRacer is a 3D racing game featuring Tux, the Linux kernel mascot. Gameplay consists of sliding down a snowy slope, avoiding hazards like cliffs, ice, and trees, and collecting herrings. TuxRacer was followed by Extreme Tux Racer, which forked off from the original after development ceased in favour of a proprietary commercial release by Sunspire Studios.

Rigs of Rods (RoR) is a 3D vehicle simulator licensed under the GPLv3. What makes Rigs of Rods different to most simulators is its unique soft-body physics: vehicles, machines, objects, etc. are simulated in real-time as flexible soft-body objects, giving the simulation an extremely accurate behaviour which entirely depends on the physical construction of the vehicles or objects you create.

Trophy is a top-down arcade racing game where cars can shoot each other as well as get ahead. There are a variety of car models to purchase as well as upgrades for the engine, tires and armour, using cash from wining races or collecting bonuses. The car is controlled using the arrow keys, with turbo boosts accessed with the a key, while the mounted gun is fired by pressing the x key and bombs are dropped with the c key. Ammo and cash is collected on the tracks, along with other powerups. The earliest hosted release is version 1.0.1 from August 13, 2000, while the earliest mentioned release is 0.0.1 from June 2, 2000.
