Marble Marcher is a 3D game showcasing a fully ray marched graphics and making use of fractals and a fractal collision engine, with 24 levels to unlock.[46][47] Due to the nature of the rendering technique it is very demanding on the graphics card and may require a modern dedicated GPU.

In the game the player controls a ball rolling on the surface of various 3D fractals, with the goal of getting to the finish zone as quickly as possible, in a fashion similar to for example Neverball.

From version 1.1.1 there are cheats available once all levels have been finished. These include a free 3D view and fractal parameter modification so that the game can be used as a real-time 3D fractal exploration tool.

From version 1.1 the development has been continued by the community, under the name Marble Marcher: Community Edition. This version fixes bugs and adds new features such as better rendering or level editor.

Hase is a free game. This means that the source code is available to be studied, modified, and distributed. Most projects look for help with testing, documentation, graphics, etc., as well.

Hase is an open source (GPL) gravity based artillery shooter. It is similar to WarMUX, Hedgewars or other artillery games, but the gravity force and direction depends on the mass nearby, similarly to WarHeads (1997). It is optimized for mobile game consoles like the GP2X, Open Pandora or GCW Zero, so it doesn't make use of the mouse even on the PC. Hase features:

  • Awesome mix of real time and turn based action
  • 20 unique weapons
  • Arbitrary number of characters per team
  • Hotseat play with an arbitrary count of players
  • Also network play, even mixed with hotseat play
  • 25 different spritesets to choose your character from
  • Masses of particles, which are also influenced by gravity
  • An action point based system to use stronger or more weapons per turn
  • Different randomly dropped items to spice things up
  • Forgot the button mapping? Just activate the ingame overlay help

XEvil is a free software platform arena game first released by Steve Hardt at M.I.T on July 26, 1994 over the Project Athena network. Structured as a free-for-all deathmatch between a wide variety of characters with differing traits and abilities, players are pitted against each other or computer controlled bots. Described as "one of the most graphically violent games ever made", the game's website features a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer over its potential offensiveness; the premise has players compete for their rank in hell. Originally developed for Unix systems using the X Windows System, it was later ported to Microsoft Windows systems using DirectX featuring sounds and music. Both versions were released under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later on January 18, 2000. Version 1.5.5 was included on the 100 Great Linux Games and version 1.0.0 on the Linux Cubed Series 8 LINUX Games shovelware collections. Versions were also included on Linux Games++ and the Red Hat Powertools.

Up until version 0.1.4 from September 19th, 2010, it was known as OpenSonic before being given a distinct identity in order to become free software (which also allowed it to be packaged on Fedora and Debian, whereas it was previously rejected), being called OpenSurge until version 0.5.2.1. They also emphasize that the underlying engine is usable for original games as well, with a custom scripting system known as SurgeScript.

Trackballs is a marble game in three-dimensional space, inspired by “Marble Madness”. It is released under the GPL, and was developed by Mathias Broxvall until a long hiatus from 2007 to 2017 after which a new maintainer picked up the project. The latest version before the hiatus is 1.1.4, released on 2007-05-25; now version 1.3.1 is available.[67] It is written in the C++ and Scheme programming language using the SDL library.[68] Support for OpenGL standard 3.3 is required.[69]

In the game, the player controls a marble (not the field itself) over a 3D labyrinth, avoiding moving spikes, deadly force fields, enemy balls, and marble-shattering falls, all while seeking the goal at the end of the level. A version was included on OpenSource Game Power volume 1.
